Festival of Gaia – Thesmophoria
The specific event directed by Angela Gerekou and artistic revival of the composer Mr. Giorgos Voukanos aims to contribute to the promotion of Thesmophoria, which meet with the folk custom of Polysporia
in Eleusis, as well as to strengthen the links between cultural tourism, environmental awareness and highlighting the natural wealth of the wider area.
The initiative for the 1st GAIAS Festival comes to be connected with the organization by the Municipality of Elefsina of the program “Cultural Capital of Europe 2023”, enriching the program of events and activities in the area, and creating a cultural and tourist attraction for visitors from the area Elefsina, the rest of Attica and the country.

The organization of the 1st GAIAS Festival is a complex project that the Region of Attica undertook to promote, coordinate, support with resources and implement, with the technical and advisory support of the Development Organization “NEA MITROPOLITIKI ATTICA SA“, which has designated as Destination.Management and Promotion Organization of the Attica Region.
